Are you an enthusiastic teacher who supports students' learning, growth, and well-being and wants to implement and develop co-teaching? We are looking for two (2) class teachers for a fixed-term position at Kauniainen Basic School, Mäntymäki teaching unit (grades 1-6), from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027. The fixed-term appointment is based on completing a designated set of tasks. Student-centeredness and the well-being of all members of the school community, as well as respectful and friendly interaction, are important to us. We aim to support each student's growth, learning, and well-being so that they have strong roots and wings for a good life on their basic education path. We strongly implement learning support through co-teaching. Our school also offers Swedish immersion instruction, inclusive preparatory education, and morning and afternoon activities. All our students receive well-being skills education. Our city’s schools actively work against bullying, harassment, violence, and discrimination. Our basic school’s common development themes include learning support and strengthening fundamental skills, well-being, language, cultural, and worldview awareness, and building a sustainable future. You will join a professional and community-oriented staff providing Finnish-language basic education. Your work involves collaboration with other teachers, the school youth worker, student welfare staff, families, and various networks. All our teachers participate in grade-level and development teams. The qualification requirement for the position is compliance with the qualification criteria set out in the decree 986/1998 on the qualifications of education personnel. Original certificates demonstrating qualification must be presented at the possible interview. In the absence of formally qualified applicants, candidates without formal qualifications may also be considered. We require the selected person to have excellent teamwork and communication skills, knowledge of current legislation on learning support, and enthusiasm for implementing and developing co-teaching practices. The appointment will be made with a six (6) month probationary period. The selected person must provide a criminal record extract in accordance with the Criminal Records Act (504/2002) before starting employment. The appointment is conditional until the person has also confirmed in writing their acceptance of the position. Experience in co-teaching in basic education and a proactive, development-oriented approach are considered an advantage.
