Job Description

We are seeking an assistant principal for the Swedish schools in Lohja for the period from August 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026. Lohja city is looking for an enthusiastic, cooperative, and development-oriented assistant principal for a temporary position within the Swedish-language education. Together with the principal and another assistant principal, you will lead Solbrinken School, Virkby School, Källhagen School, and Virkby Gymnasium. Our schools emphasize appreciative and respectful interaction with students, collaboration among colleagues, and school leadership. We aim for a safe, inclusive, and professional operational culture. As an assistant principal, you will have personnel responsibility for Solbrinken School and Virkby School (grades 1-6) and oversee the overall operations within grades 1-6 and the afternoon activities. You will also coordinate support arrangements for grades 1-9. You will be part of the principal team at Källhagen property. The principal team consists of the principal and two assistant principals, who together are responsible for the pedagogical and administrative activities of the schools, as well as daily management and development. When the assignment begins, the division of work within the principal team will be agreed upon jointly. The role includes a teaching obligation of 6 weekly hours. We expect the selected candidate to have: - Good interaction and collaboration skills - Strong and solid experience working with grades 1-6 - Experience in student welfare work and the ability to work preventively and collaboratively for students' well-being - Leadership experience - Experience in school administration - Ability to work in a structured, independent, and team-oriented manner We value: - Ability to develop the school's operations in collaboration with the principal, staff, students, and other stakeholders - Experience with administrative systems such as MultiPrimus/PrimusKurre, Populus, and Raindance As an employer, we invest in staff well-being and development. Qualifications are based on the regulation on qualification requirements for personnel in the education sector (986/98) (http://finlex.fi/sv/laki/ajantasa/1998/19980986). Salary based on task 4,895 €/month + Lohja TVA 199.09 €/month + possible language and experience supplements. Salary is determined according to UKTA. A probation period of half the length of employment applies. Additionally, a criminal record extract must be presented according to law (504/ 2002).
