Job Description
Are you a reliable and safe adult with an understanding of substitute care work and, above all, a desire to do impactful and caring work in child protection substitute care? Do you have social and health care training (practical nurse)? We are currently looking for a night supervisor to join the team at Small Group Home Villa Iiris in a permanent position. Professional skills are important to us, but it is truly essential to have a genuine desire to be part of children's daily life and celebrations, and to act as a caring adult promoting children's well-being. Child protection services Villa Sanka is a stable family business established in 2019, consisting of three different substitute care units. We are a fair, reliable, and safe employer. Villa Iiris is located in Kellokoski, with good transportation connections. Villa Iiris is a 7-place substitute care unit, mainly housing children and young people placed long-term of various ages. Our special expertise includes neuropsychiatric skills, mental health expertise, trauma work, and working with children not attending school. We value previous experience and understanding in these areas from applicants. The primary task of the night shift is to monitor and ensure overall safety and tranquility during the night. In the evenings, the night supervisor assists with evening routines and putting children to bed, and continues these tasks independently after the evening shift ends. The role includes listening and supporting children and young people as needed, handling night-time tasks such as household chores, assisting the next shift, organizing the following day, administering medication according to prescriptions, and most importantly, monitoring the children’s sleep. In the mornings, the night shift worker is responsible for waking children, morning routines, and reporting to the incoming daytime staff. Night work is performed alone, and while it is based on planning, unexpected situations may arise. The applicant must have good organizational skills, the ability to make independent decisions, and good anticipatory skills. Substitute care work is rewarding but demanding, and we appreciate applicants with relevant experience and understanding of the work. We offer a development-oriented and reliable workplace where you can be part of impactful substitute care work. The unit manager supports the team daily. We provide regular supervision, team days, and well-being days. Staff training is tailored to needs and wishes. We offer e-pass benefits. The salary depends on experience, ranging from €2441.78 to €2756.82 per month, with additional shift allowances. A driver’s license is essential. First aid, medication, and fire safety training are considered an advantage. We will hire as soon as a suitable candidate is found.
