Welcome to the head physician position at the Diagnostic Center! HUS Diagnostic Center is Finland's leading provider of clinical laboratory and imaging services. Our primary operational area includes specialized healthcare within the HUS consortium and primary healthcare in the associated welfare areas. We also manage laboratory and imaging services for the Kymenlaakso and South Karelia welfare areas. We operate across eight medical specialties. We are responsible for several nationally specialized studies, as well as research and education at university hospitals. Diagnostic tests play a central role in confirming, excluding, and monitoring diseases, as part of treatment and screening. Approximately 3,300 laboratory and imaging professionals work at over 150 locations within HUS Diagnostic Center. We are seeking a head physician for a permanent position in the Clinical Microbiology department, within the Virology and Immunology unit at HUS Diagnostic Center. The position begins on August 1, 2026, or as agreed. Practical experience in clinical virology, immunology, infectious serology, bacteriology, and emergency microbiology is required. Preference is given to candidates with the ability to work independently, interest in autoimmunology, infectious serology, virology, and related laboratory service development and research. We value a multidisciplinary approach and good interaction and collaboration skills. The suitable specialty for the position is clinical microbiology.
