Job Description

The special services for children, youth, and families at the Satakunta Wellbeing Service Area have a vacancy for a permanent social worker in child protection out-of-home care. The position will be filled starting August 3, 2026. The primary location is Rauma. Our approach in child protection is fundamentally empowering for individuals and families. Our goal is to enable families to feel that they are recognized as subjects in their cases. The child is always at the center of our work. A systemic approach facilitates a shared understanding of individual and family situations. Each systemic team includes a family therapist who provides multidisciplinary expertise and assessment of family situations. In addition to the strong support from your team as the person responsible for children's issues, it is a traditional value in Satakunta child protection to support employees across team boundaries. Our ambition is to build an expert community with employees where they feel genuine job satisfaction and a desire to commit long-term to our work community. Our goal is to build stability for both our clients and our employees together with you. We value experience working with children and families, good interaction and collaboration skills, and a positive, flexible, and proactive work attitude. We work in teams and require good teamwork skills. The qualification requirement for the position is a social worker qualification according to the Act on Social Welfare Professionals (817/2015) §7. Additionally, good oral and written skills in Finnish are required. To perform the duties, a driver’s license and own car are desirable. We offer support from supervisors and the work community, as well as regular supervision. We have flexible working hours and the possibility of remote work within the limits of the work nature. We provide sports and cultural benefits to support well-being, as well as free gyms provided by the wellbeing area. In Satakunta, you can enjoy affordable housing costs, diverse cultural offerings, beautiful local nature, and extensive outdoor and sports opportunities. The terms of employment are governed by the SOTE agreement. The task-specific salary is €4,510/month. In the employment relationship, a six-month probationary period applies. Before accepting the position, the selected employee must submit a criminal record extract as required by law (504/2002) for inspection. Interviews will be held on Monday, June 29, and Tuesday, June 30, 2026. Applications should be sent primarily electronically via the link found in the job advertisement.
