Etelä-Savon hyvinvointialue Eloisa is seeking an internal medicine or geriatric specialist to a permanent civil service position in Savonlinna starting from 1 October 2026 or by agreement. We are recruiting for the Savonlinna hospital’s joint ward for internal medicine or geriatrics. Our joint ward has 22 beds and about ten patients on rotation daily. Savonlinna hospital works closely with Mikkeli Central Hospital. The role can be tailored to include ward work and/or outpatient clinic work, and part-time work is negotiable. The position does not include on-call duties. In addition to a solid salary, flexible working hours and the beautiful Saimaa scenery, we offer a varied specialist physician role and the support of experienced colleagues to help you succeed. We offer a competitive compensation package: Specialist doctor with less than 10 years of experience 8656.78 €/month; Specialist doctor with more than 10 years of experience 9068.41 €/month – 9480.05 €/month. In addition to the base salary there are personal and local agreement allowances. We also provide employees with a €200 health/witness benefit to use for sport, culture or wellbeing services. As an employer, Eloisa promotes education and professional development; regular meetings support quality training within the house, and doctors may also participate in external training. Eligibility requires licensure under the Health Care Professionals Act 559/94 to work as a licensed physician, with sufficient Finnish language skills (spoken and written). The position requires vaccination protection under Infectious Disease Act section 48 and a health clearance for tuberculosis per section 55. Before finalizing the appointment, the selected candidate must provide a health status report. A six-month probationary period applies.
