Job Description
We are looking for a Solution Engineer / System Developer to work on product configuration solutions, CPQ-type systems, and related integrations for our client. The client is an international technology company whose solutions play a significant role in the development of industry and sustainable technology. In this role, you will develop and maintain both ready-made configuration platforms, such as Tacton CPQ, and the client's internal systems. The role is not a pure coding position within a development team but an independent and versatile task where you address user needs, make changes directly in systems, and translate development requests into practical solutions. The preferred location is primarily Vaasa, where a large portion of system users and business stakeholders operate. Helsinki and Turku are also possible locations if you are willing to travel occasionally to Vaasa and have experience in requirements gathering and remote collaboration. We offer In this role, you will contribute to developing critical product configuration solutions in an environment where user needs, technical development, and system integrations intersect. We offer: - A salary range of approximately 3700–4700 €/month depending on your skills and experience - A versatile role involving product configuration, CPQ, integration, and development tasks - Collaboration with users, architects, business, and technical experts - Hybrid work possibility depending on location and work requirements Work Tasks Your workday may include reviewing development requests from users, making system changes, troubleshooting code, examining API interfaces and integrations, and designing technical solutions together with Solution Architects and other stakeholders. About half of your time will be focused on practical development. You will be close to system users and understand how product configuration solutions support broader business and planning processes. Success in this role requires the ability to handle ambiguous issues, independently find solutions, and translate user needs into concrete improvements. Your responsibilities will include: - Developing and maintaining product configuration solutions and CPQ-type systems - Making changes and fixes to systems based on user feedback and development needs - Further developing the client's own configuration system and Tacton-type solutions - Reading, modifying, and writing production code - Working with API interfaces and system integrations - Supporting users and ensuring service functionality - Gathering and refining requirements with business and technical stakeholders - Supporting documentation, testing, and change management - Collaborating with Solution Architects, business users, and other experts - Supporting future technical solutions and platform choices as part of a broader roadmap Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate has a strong interest in system development, product configuration solutions, and integrations. You do not need to be a fully qualified architect or CPQ specialist but should be able to work independently on technical solutions and understand how systems communicate. You are suitable if you have: - A relevant higher university degree, e.g., in computer science, software development, industrial engineering, or a related field - Practical software development experience and the ability to read existing code, make modifications, and write production code - Experience or good understanding of API interfaces and system integrations - Skills in technologies such as .NET, C#, JavaScript, React, Node.js, Python, relational databases - Good communication and collaboration skills in an international environment - The ability to work independently, proactively resolve issues, and complete tasks - Fluent English language skills Preferred qualifications: - Experience with product configuration solutions, CPQ systems, or rule-based configurators - Experience with Tacton CPQ or similar platforms - Experience with systems in manufacturing, design, PLM, ERP, or engineering environments - Experience with agile methods, Scrum, DevOps practices, or ITSM processes - Proficiency in Finnish or Swedish is an advantage Practical Details - Location: Primarily Vaasa, but Helsinki and Turku are also possible - Work Model: Hybrid, mostly on-site - Travel: Occasional travel to Vaasa from Helsinki or Turku - Working hours: Full-time, permanent - Start: August 2026 - Salary: Approximately 3700–4700 €/month depending on skills and experience - Language: English required, Finnish and Swedish are a plus Schedule - Weeks 23-25: Interviews with Academic Work - Week 26: Interviews with the client - Week 26 or 27: Salary decision Recruitment Process Academic Work handles this application on behalf of the client, who prefers all questions related to the position to be directed to Academic Work.
