Job Description
The Career and Guidance Services Manager's task is to develop student guidance in collaboration with their team, promote and ensure smooth continuation paths for students, create a community-oriented operational culture, deliver high-quality guidance services, and promote student equality. We expect the manager to have a future-oriented development mindset and a comprehensive view of student guidance from the initial career counseling to employment. The role requires being a bold and goal-oriented networked team player who can inspire their staff towards good results. Key responsibilities include: application and selection processes, organizing and developing networking related to student guidance with basic education, employment sectors, guidance offices, and other youth service networks, organizing and developing study guidance during the application phase and various stages of studies, developing and ensuring smooth transitions to employment and further studies, organizing and developing HOKS monitoring meetings, organizing and developing student activities, coordinating community-based student welfare, coordinating student welfare cooperation. Requirements: qualification as a vocational or joint qualification instructor, higher university degree, knowledge of the Finnish education system, sufficient understanding of vocational education, student welfare, and related legislation, good interaction and communication skills, networking skills, ability to work independently and time management skills, practical skills in information and communication technology. Additionally, initiative, perseverance, and an active and positive attitude are characteristic of you. The pre-employment health check and drug test will be conducted after the start of the job during the trial period, and the applicant is responsible for obtaining the criminal background check. The role belongs to the Guidance Services unit. The supervisor is the principal. The primary work location can be either Rauma (Suojantie 2) or Pori (Tiedepuisto 3). We follow the general collective agreement of the KT sector (YTES) regarding pay and working conditions. The position has a 6-month probation period.
