School assistant positions at Karan school for the period 10.8.2026 - 5.6.2027. The basis for the fixed term is project funding. The duty of the school assistant is to act as a guide in general education or special classes during the school day. Working hours are 30 hours per week. The position requires good interaction and cooperation skills. Karan school serves grades 6-9. There are 440 students and 40 staff members. We are looking for two enthusiastic and competent school assistants for our work community. Rapid changes are possible during the school day and plans may be revised on the fly, so we hope for a flexible attitude towards changes. The work may include transfers between lower secondary schools or, for example, to sports facilities. We offer a versatile working environment where you can help young people in grades 6-9. You may have a practical nurse's education, a school assistant qualification, or another equivalent degree. When filling the fixed-term position, we will also consider applicants without formal qualifications who have experience working with children and youth, especially in lower secondary school. Experience working with multilingual students may be considered an advantage. The terms of employment are determined according to KVTES. The full-time salary is 2573.04 euros/month in accordance with the collective agreement. In addition, you may receive a work experience supplement based on your previous work experience (3% or 8% of the position-specific salary). The selected person must present a criminal record extract in accordance with the Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children and Adolescents (504/2002).
