Psychiatrist, Youth Special Care - Helsingin kaupunki - Helsinki, Finland

We are recruiting psychiatrists/youth psychiatrists. Helsinki's Child and Youth Special Care units provide psychiatric, neurological, and youth psychiatric consultations, examinations, therapeutic interventions, and rehabilitation planning in collaboration with other services working with children and youth under 24 years old in Helsinki. We aim to lead, develop, and organize mental health service chains for those under 24, promoting service integration. We work closely with other youth services and develop the sector. We seek a doctor to work at youth psychiatric/psychiatric clinics with patients aged 13-23. The psychiatrist will perform comprehensive psychiatric work including diagnostics, treatment planning, and follow-up of treatment and rehabilitation. You will provide consultation support to your team and other professionals working with youth in the city. Your work also includes guiding resident doctors and general practitioners. Success is seen in positive changes in the young person's daily life and gratitude from colleagues. Our work improves efficiency and health benefits, reducing waiting times. Your supervisor will be the chief physician of our unit, supported by professionals such as nurses, social workers, family and social therapists, psychologists, occupational therapists, and ward managers. We prefer candidates specialized in youth psychiatry but are open to other psychiatric specialists, general practitioners, or those with different specializations. Experience is less important than motivation, enthusiasm, and the ability to see the big picture. You should be solution-oriented, a networker, and able to express your views while recognizing when flexibility is needed. Requirements include being a licensed doctor in Finland with specialist rights in psychiatry, good Finnish language skills, and satisfactory Swedish skills. The candidate must provide health and safety assessments and background checks as required by law.
