Job Description
Kuhmo is Finland's most forest-centric city, known for its high-quality music and literary culture, especially chamber music and Kalevala, as well as a community-oriented lifestyle that values sharing, expertise, and quality. Kuhmo - full of life in the realm of forests and culture! In the growth and learning services area of Kuhmo city, a permanent school supervisor position is available starting August 10, 2026. The school supervisor role is based at Tuupala Comprehensive School, where placements are made according to the needs of grades 1-9 students. When employment begins, the tasks are primarily in flexible basic education for grades 7-9, but teaching may also occur across general education grades 1-9. In the 2026-27 school year, approximately 450 basic education students will attend the school. We hope applicants have experience working with children and young people. The role of school supervisor requires good interaction and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently, in pairs, and in teams. The qualification requirement is a professional qualification in school supervision or other suitable education. The school supervisor duties may include guiding and supporting students, collaborating with teachers and other supervisors, participating in camp schools and excursions, supervising meals and recesses, and guiding morning and afternoon activities. We are looking for a supervisor with a proactive and initiative-taking approach, a present and encouraging attitude towards children, and enthusiasm to be an active part of the school community. The working hours are 32 hours per week. The position is filled on a six-month trial basis. Salary is in accordance with the municipal general collective agreement (KVTES). The selected candidate must submit a valid criminal record extract related to working with children within 30 days of receiving the employment decision, in accordance with the law (504/2002).
