The services for early childhood education in the city of Lovisa are seeking an early childhood education teacher for a fixed-term position from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027. The placement is at the Pärlan day care center, in a group for children under three years old. Lovisa's newest day care, Pärlan, is located in the city center. The day care has facilities for nine day care groups and the open day care Treffis. Additionally, there is a gymnasium, an atelier, and a story corner for shared use. Educators have access to suitable office, meeting, and social spaces. Each group has its own entrance, cloakroom, toilets, and group room with smaller rooms for a small group. The day care also offers shift care around the clock for children in need. As an early childhood education teacher, you serve as an expert for the pedagogical activities in your group, as a team leader, and as a guide. The work is team-based and visible in the activities within the multidisciplinary team and in active collaboration among all teams within the unit. We expect you to have a playful, child-oriented, and sensitive approach, as well as good interaction skills. The qualification requirement is eligibility according to Section 26 of the Act on Early Childhood Education (540/2018, Section 75 transitional provision) for the position of early childhood education teacher. The day care is bilingual, but the placement is in a Finnish-speaking group. Knowledge of both native languages is considered an asset. The selected candidate must, before starting employment, present a criminal record extract according to the Act on the Investigation of Criminal Backgrounds of Persons Working with Children (504/2002) and provide an acceptable medical certificate of health within 30 days of starting employment. A six-month probationary period applies upon taking up the position. The employer reserves the right not to fill the position if there are not enough qualified or suitable applicants.
