Job Description
Would you like to join the guardians of the Kainuu wilderness? The Kainuu Rescue Department is seeking a rescue team leader for a fixed-term temporary position from June 29, 2026, to August 11, 2026. The initial placement is at the Sotkamo fire station. The working hours are according to a special permit, averaging 42 hours per week. The Kainuu Rescue Department offers an interesting and varied working environment that also supports professional development. The department is highly supportive of training and encourages staff to pursue education alongside work. We actively participate in national and international missions. The duties of the rescue team leader include leading the rescue team, tasks related to accident prevention and risk management, and participation in operational activities. The rescue team leader acts as the supervisor during their shift and as the commander of the rescue unit and team at the scene (acts as a rescue authority). If necessary, the rescue team leader may also participate in rescue operations as a crew member. They are also responsible for training contractual personnel and other cooperation with them. We value an active work attitude, versatile skills, and good communication skills.

Requirements
- A qualification in rescue services according to rescue law 55 §, a rescue service education, or a previous qualification granting eligibility for rescue personnel.
- Valid BC-class driving license.
- Good physical and mental health for demanding rescue tasks.
