Pattasten School is seeking a full-time subject teacher for a permanent position starting August 1, 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter. Job Description The work of a full-time home economics teacher focuses on teaching common and elective home economics courses for upper grades. We appreciate expertise in home economics content, pedagogical skills supporting curriculum goals, and versatile assessment skills. Qualifications Successful performance of the role requires not only formal qualifications but also enthusiasm for developing our school’s operational culture and the ability to plan work collaboratively with another home economics teacher. Experience as a home economics teacher is considered an advantage. At Pattasten School, you will have the opportunity to participate in and influence the planning of new home economics teaching facilities, which are expected to start operating around 2028. Qualifications Requirements Qualifications are determined according to the decree on the qualifications of teaching staff (986/1998). Original certificates proving qualifications must be presented during the possible interview. Employment Relationship Salary and working conditions are governed by the Local Government Collective Agreement for Education Personnel (OVTES). The basic salary for teachers in Raahe exceeds the salary table of OVTES. The selected candidate must, within 30 days of receiving the employment decision, present a satisfactory health certificate and a criminal record extract related to work with children, issued within the last six months. Probation period: 6 months.
