About the role

Digia's Financial Products business unit is looking for a Software Architect (Security) with a strong technical background and a passion for building secure, resilient software solutions. You can work in this role from our offices in Jyväskylä, Helsinki, or Tampere, or remotely from anywhere in Finland. In this role, you will combine information security expertise with hands-on work in software architecture, requirements analysis, and solution development. You'll play a key role in ensuring that security is embedded into our products, processes, and deliveries from the very beginning. This is an opportunity to take a visible role in strengthening security across a large-scale financial platform while working closely with experienced software professionals in a highly collaborative environment. At Digia Financial Products (DiFS), we develop one of the largest financial software platforms in the Nordic countries. Our modern and modular business platform supports core financial operations, including fund management, asset management, lending and borrowing, trading, and custody services. By joining us, you'll contribute to solutions that are trusted by leading financial organizations and have a real impact on the industry. Your role This is a hybrid role where approximately 50% of your work will focus on software and delivery security. The remaining part will be shaped by your expertise and interests and may include software architecture, solution analysis, quality assurance, or other areas where you can create value. As an experienced security professional, you will support customer projects throughout their lifecycle, from bid phase to delivery. You'll work closely with development teams, architects, and business stakeholders to ensure that security, risk management, and compliance requirements are translated into practical and effective solutions. Your responsibilities include developing and maintaining our ISO 27001-based information security management practices, conducting security and risk analyses for software products, and continuously improving our security capabilities using methods such as FMEA and threat modeling. You will analyze and strengthen API security in .NET-based solutions running both on-premises and in Azure environments. In addition, you'll help ensure that security and privacy considerations are seamlessly integrated into architecture, development, and delivery practices. The role involves close collaboration with the Business Security Manager and the CSO Office in areas such as risk management, audits, incident handling, and business continuity planning. You'll also participate in security steering groups, reporting activities, and continuous improvement initiatives while contributing to solution design, customer requirement analysis, and migration projects. We also encourage the use of AI-powered tools and modern approaches that support security analysis, automation, and continuous improvement. What we expect To succeed in this role, you bring: At least 3 years of experience in information or software security Strong understanding of ISO 27001 and ISMS practices Experience with .NET environments, APIs, and secure software development Familiarity with risk analysis methods such as FMEA and threat modeling Background in software development, software architecture, or requirements analysis Programming experience, enabling a deep understanding of technical security challenges Ability to balance hands-on technical work with documentation, governance, and stakeholder collaboration Strong communication skills in English and at least a basic understanding of Finnish This role requires a basic security clearance, which will be conducted for the selected candidate. What does Digia offer? At Digia, you'll join a community of more than 1,600 professionals who share a passion for technology, continuous learning, and helping customers succeed. We believe that expertise grows when people are given both responsibility and support. That's why we offer: A learning-oriented culture with dedicated weekly time for learning, experimentation, and professional growth Support from experienced architects, developers, and security professionals who actively share knowledge across teams and communities Opportunities to influence your own role and shape your career path based on your strengths and interests Meaningful work in a business-critical domain where security truly matters Flexible ways of working and an environment built on trust, collaboration, and expertise Comprehensive employee benefits, including extensive occupational healthcare, holiday cottages, a €2,000 referral bonus, and much more A wide range of OpenClub communities, from sports and wellness to movies, crafts, board games, coffee tasting, and beyond, making it easy to find your people and build connections across Digia Are you interested?
