Job Description
SASKY Education Consortium is a regional joint authority providing vocational and general education, operating across several municipalities in Pirkanmaa and Satakunta. The staff employed by the consortium is approximately 500. The Sasky Ikaalinen School of Crafts and Fine Arts, part of the Northwest Pirkanmaa educational institutions, has over 400 students in arts and crafts, media, visual expression, and music production, with about 30 teaching staff and additional support staff. Our operations are based on collaboration, development, and student-centeredness. You will have the opportunity to influence the future of vocational education as part of a competent and committed work community. We are seeking an Education Manager for a permanent position starting from October 1, 2026. The primary work location at the start of employment is Sasky Ikaalinen School of Crafts and Fine Arts, Ikaalinen. As an Education Manager, your task is to oversee, lead, and develop the operations, finances, and pedagogy of your own educational fields to ensure high-quality, safe education that meets labor market needs, and to ensure smooth work for staff and support for students. You will act as a direct supervisor for staff and be responsible for the comprehensive planning, implementation, and development of activities and learning environments within your educational fields. You will prepare work schedules using student management system applications and support staff in pedagogical development and daily work. Initially, your responsibilities will include the following educational fields: arts and crafts, media, visual expression, and music production. Requirements include experience in vocational education, supervisory or managerial experience, knowledge of educational administration, practical experience in implementing the academic year planning process, skills in drafting work schedules using student management system applications (Primus and Kurre), financial skills and experience in financial planning and monitoring, experience in leading pedagogical processes, good knowledge of networks and experience in stakeholder cooperation, vision and development skills in creative education, good understanding of safety and occupational health practices in learning environments, proficiency in digital tools, good oral and written skills in Finnish, and knowledge of the educational fields within your responsibility. Preferred qualifications include strong interaction, cooperation, and teamwork skills, as well as a Degree in Educational Administration. Employment terms are governed by the Municipal Education Staff Collective Agreement (OVTES). Salary is based on the applicant’s qualifications, education, and experience. The base salary for a qualified Education Manager is €4969.12 per month. Additional task-specific pay and possible allowances according to the collective agreement are also paid. The position is subject to a six (6) month probation period. Before starting, the selected candidate must provide a criminal record extract related to working with children, as required by law 504/2002.
