Job Description

Would you like to lead significant data center projects from inception to readiness and play a central role in building green infrastructure? As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for developing 1–3 data center projects. You will oversee the progress of these projects comprehensively, ensuring that all work streams—from site identification and planning to environmental impact assessments, network connections, and investment preparations—advance according to schedule and objectives. Your work covers the entire development phase: from site identification and planning, through environmental assessments, network connections, and investment preparations. You will actively collaborate with various stakeholders, such as municipalities, authorities, planning partners, and infrastructure operators. Projects typically last 2–3 years, with varying scope. We seek an independent and proactive project professional who thrives in a fast-paced and changing business environment, capable of making decisions and solving problems quickly even amid uncertainty. You have a track record of completing challenging infrastructure projects to readiness and understand that such projects rarely proceed straightforwardly. You take initiative, drive projects forward, and keep key stakeholders informed. You value responsibility and can operate in situations where established processes or solutions may not be available. You are flexible, eager to learn, and willing to grow with the company. Candidate requirements: - Suitable university degree (e.g., technical, commercial, or environmental field) - Self-directed and entrepreneurial approach to work, with initiative and strong ownership of your tasks - Proven ability to complete challenging development projects - Ability to manage large entities and multiple stakeholders simultaneously - Good Finnish and English language skills, with readiness to work independently with authorities and stakeholders. Additional advantages: - Experience in data center, energy, electrical grid, or industrial projects - Geospatial skills (QGIS, ArcGIS) - CAD design software (AutoCAD) What we offer: - Responsibility for significant projects in Finland’s leading data center development company and the opportunity to influence data center development from the ground up - Genuine opportunities for professional growth in a role working with experienced colleagues on diverse projects - A close-knit, flat organizational structure where responsibility and freedom go hand in hand - A rapidly evolving environment typical of a growth company - Comfortable office facilities in Helsinki and a flexible hybrid work model. Practical details: The position is permanent and full-time, with direct employment at Polarnode. Your workplace will be in Helsinki, and the role involves some travel to project sites. The start date will be agreed upon with the selected candidate.
