Job Description

We are seeking a counselor for the 24-hour residential unit Honkakoti, located in Turenki, part of disability services, for a permanent position. We offer a diverse, varied, and interesting job where you can express your creativity and deepen your professional expertise. You will be supported by a professional and encouraging team. The work includes a mix of care, assistance, and guidance tasks. Our approach values the individuality of residents and supports their independence and self-determination. The qualification requirement is a basic degree in social and health care, such as a practical nurse. Additionally, registration with the Central Register of Social and Health Care Professionals is required. We also value an empathetic, positive, open-minded, and proactive work attitude. The job requires the ability to organize your work independently, strong teamwork skills, and flexibility in changing situations. Experience in disability work, IMO, and communication support methods is an advantage. The unit operates on a regular 3-shift schedule. Internal mobility between nearby units may be implemented as needed, which could temporarily change the work location. Work tasks require a hygiene passport, LOVe, and EA course, which can be completed after starting employment. We require employees to have COVID-19 vaccination protection according to the Infectious Diseases Act, section 48, and a health statement regarding respiratory tuberculosis, section 55. Employees working with the elderly and disabled must present a criminal record extract as per the law on supervision of social and health care (741/2023), section 28.1, and section 6.4 of the Criminal Records Act. In addition, experience-based pay may be added, ranging from 0% to 8%. Experience pay also affects the accrual of leave days. The working hours are 38.15 hours per week. Salary and other employment terms are governed by the SOTE agreement. The trial period is six months.
