Vice Rector, Research Responsibility - Tampereen yliopisto - Remote - Global

The Vice Rector for Research at Tampere University is responsible for leading the university's research activities and their strategic development. The role involves ensuring high research quality, supporting strategic goals, collaborating with the rector and other vice rectors, monitoring international research trends, participating in leadership activities, representing the university in national and international research networks, and managing internal research councils. The position is full-time, based in Tampere, from January 1, 2027, to December 31, 2031. Candidates must hold a doctoral degree and professorship, have extensive experience in academic environments, knowledge of research funding and policy, leadership experience, understanding of research infrastructures and ecosystems, international research experience, and excellent communication skills in Finnish and English.
