Järvenperä School is a lower secondary school providing basic education, with approximately 450 students in grades 7-9. The school has strong special pedagogical expertise and effective structures for individualized learning support. It also offers work-life-oriented basic education, TEPPO, and LUMA focus areas. Additionally, there are three classes for students with severe developmental disabilities in grades 1-9, organized by activity area. The school's vision is joy of learning and differentiation. Well-being skills education and guidance are emphasized. Student guidance is developed holistically and is seen as the responsibility of all school staff. We are seeking a technical work methods teacher for a substitute position from August 11, 2026, to January 31, 2027. There are 23 teaching hours. Interviews will be held in week 32. Qualifications: Qualification as a craft teacher for basic education. Teacher qualifications are determined according to the decree on the qualifications of education personnel no 986/98. According to section 9 of the decree, teachers providing basic education must have excellent oral and written skills in Finnish. We also consider non-qualified applicants for fixed-term positions. The position requires experience in teaching technical work methods in a lower secondary school. Additionally, strong command of the curriculum and pedagogical requirements, ability to develop subject teaching, motivate students to study crafts, flexibility, and strong interaction and teamwork skills are required. Applicants must present a criminal record extract as specified in section 6.2 of the Criminal Records Act.
