In the on-call rota, two municipal veterinarians work simultaneously for the Iisalmi area covering Iisalmi, Kiuruvesi, Sonkajärvi and Vieremä. On-call frequency is every fifth weekend. Qualifications: licensed veterinarian in Finland. Selection also considers fitness and potential. The position requires interest in dairy-oriented mixed practice, flexibility, commitment, ability to work independently, and good teamwork and communication skills. Own car is required. We offer an opportunity to engage in meaningful and challenging mixed practice in well-equipped clinic-level facilities with x-ray and inhalation anesthesia equipment. In the reception, there are three municipal veterinarians and one clinic nurse. In the Iisalmi environmental health service district there are 12 municipal veterinarians and 2.5 surveillance veterinarian posts. The district includes the towns of Iisalmi and Kiuruvesi and the municipalities of Sonkajärvi and Vieremä. Pay follows the physicians' collective agreement; the task-based salary component is 3 026,54 euros/month. Additionally, experience pay up to 8% is paid depending on experience, calculated from the base component. On-call compensation is 10 €/h for weekday on-call, 15 €/h for weekend/holiday on-call, and 25 €/h for Christmas period on-call (23–27 December). A medical certificate of health must be provided before taking up the post. A six-month probation is observed.
