Korvenkoti provides 24-hour service housing for people with intellectual disabilities. The Korvenkoti housing unit is located in Rahola, Tampere, with good transport links. The unit has 11 resident places, divided into two home groups with shared common areas and a small terrace. Staff are present around the clock, and residents receive the necessary help, support, and guidance in their housing and daily activities. Residents' weekdays are filled with daytime activities, household chores, other errands, and outdoor activities. As a practical nurse, your work involves holistic care and guidance. Your duties also include medication administration, networking and cooperation with clients' circles and relatives, and various home care tasks, including food preparation. Residents participate in home activities according to their skills. Responsibility areas related to the unit's operations are shared among all staff. Strengthening residents' right to self-determination and supporting participation are important parts of our daily routine. Your work focuses on client-oriented and goal-directed guidance based on individual and situational needs for guidance and care. What we hope for from you? - You are a title-protected practical nurse (social care) or a basic care nurse. - You have a valid hygiene passport and have completed the LOVe medication web test. If necessary, you can complete the LOVe web tests as soon as possible at the start of employment. - You have experience working with people with intellectual disabilities and can use alternative communication methods. - Proficiency in structured documentation and readiness to manage various client information applications, such as Saga and OMNI 365. - Awareness of the right to self-determination for people with intellectual disabilities and a participatory approach. - Self-direction, a positive attitude toward development, and good interaction skills. The start date for the permanent employment is September 1, 2026, or as agreed. A probationary period of six months applies to the position. The working time is full-time, averaging 38 h 15 min/week. The work includes morning, evening, and night shifts. The selected candidate must have valid vaccination protection in accordance with Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act (1227/2016). Before accepting the position, the selected candidate must present a criminal record extract in accordance with Section 6, subsection 4 of the Criminal Records Act.
