Job Description

The rail network in the Helsinki metropolitan area is expanding, and we are looking for new tram drivers! Join us for a unique opportunity with great prospects. We are seeking apprentices for a starting training in August. You will enjoy independent work and be part of the city's rhythm. As a trusted figure for passengers, your punctuality, alertness, and good situational awareness will ensure efficient and safe public transport. You enjoy working with different people and are customer-oriented. You are ready to work shifts and appreciate a varied work environment. You will help ensure excellent service quality and customer satisfaction. You might be the person we are looking for if you have a category B driving license, are at least 21 years old, have good Finnish language skills, no serious traffic violations, are customer-oriented, committed to shift work and punctuality, have good stress tolerance, and health conditions that allow working in traffic professions and sitting for long periods. We offer permanent employment as a tram driver after successful training, with salary from training period, including shift allowances and personal pay components. The median salary for a qualified tram driver is approximately €3340/month. The training is a full-time program in collaboration with Stadin ammatti- ja aikuisopisto, starting with two months of classroom instruction followed by four months of practical training. The training is intensive, with evening and weekend classes. Successful graduates will be employed by Pääkaupunkiseudun Kaupunkiliikenne Oy.
