Job Description
Psychiatric nurse, join us at the Children's Home Hospital and develop your role! We treat acutely ill children or those needing short-term care contacts, as well as children with longer-term illnesses at their homes. The psychiatric nurse position is new at the Children's Home Hospital. The aim is for the psychiatric nurse to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and be available to all patients and families during acute, crisis, and extended care phases. The goal is for each family of a chronically ill child to meet the psychiatric nurse at least a few times a year. The psychiatric nurse provides low-threshold discussion support without a referral and specializes in supporting families while the child is a patient at the Children's Home Hospital. Close collaboration with pediatric psychiatric units, other specialized professionals such as social workers and hospital chaplains, ensures continuity of psychosocial support throughout the treatment period. Tasks also include supporting the Children's Home Hospital nursing staff in various care situations. Seamless cooperation with the care team enables outreach and tangible psychological support for patients, parents, and the multidisciplinary team. We hope for an enthusiastic approach and a desire to develop activities together with a skilled care team. We value customer-oriented, development-minded attitudes, as well as good communication and collaboration skills. Experience in pediatric specialized care is considered an advantage. We offer personalized orientation and diverse training in a constantly evolving environment with many opportunities. The role also offers the chance to become an expert in pediatric palliative care. A driver’s license is required for home visits, and you will mainly use the hospital car for these visits. The salary for this position is €3,146.75/month plus possible experience and other allowances. The position begins on June 8, 2026, or by agreement. The fixed-term contract ends in late November, but we can discuss the possibility of extension closer to winter. Apply by the deadline, no later than June 11. At HUS, you are part of the most impactful care.
