Job Description
We are looking for approximately 20 cooks for Kilpilahti industrial area for the autumn 2026 maintenance shutdown. The role offers a dynamic and meaningful environment where efficient food service is a key part of the success of the entire shutdown. Kilpilahti is one of the most significant industrial areas in the Nordic countries, and during the shutdown, thousands of professionals work in the area. Food services are provided by Sodexo, one of the leading food and facility service companies in the Nordic region. During Kilpilahti shutdown, Sodexo ensures that the daily routines of thousands of workers run safely, efficiently, and with high quality throughout the project. Up to 2000 lunches are prepared daily, making the work intense, planned, and based on strong teamwork. What does a cook do during the shutdown? As a cook, you work in a large kitchen environment as part of an experienced team. Main responsibilities: - Preparing and pre-assembling large quantities of food - Ensuring smooth operation of the serving line - Strict adherence to hygiene and safety instructions - Collaborating with other kitchen and hall staff - Working efficiently under time pressure This is not a fine dining role — it is efficient teamwork in a production kitchen where speed and organization are crucial. Working hours and project duration: - Estimated period: September 2026 - Work begins slightly before the shutdown and continues shortly after - Shift work · 24/7 operation - Overtime opportunities Training sessions will be organized before the start of work. We expect from you: - Experience in a large kitchen or similar environment - Fast and proactive work attitude - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment - Responsible and safety-conscious attitude - Proficiency in Finnish is considered an advantage. Good command of English is also acceptable. - Hygiene passport Safety first Safety is of utmost importance at Kilpilahti. The area includes drug testing and strict safety monitoring. Use of personal protective equipment is mandatory. A safety card is required for the area. We can assist in obtaining the card if needed. Commitment to safety is mandatory.
