Job Description
Kaskenlinna Palliative Department operates as part of the TYKS Palliative Center. The department has 20 patient beds. Patients on the department have undergone palliative care limitation and/or hospice decision. Patients usually arrive from other departments of Tyks hospital services or directly from home. The core principles are patient-centeredness, collaboration with relatives, and good symptom management at the end of life. The department emphasizes individuality, safety, and autonomy. We use a team-based approach to patient care. Your tasks The work of a practical nurse in the palliative department focuses on maintaining the quality of life for patients with incurable illnesses, alleviating symptoms, and supporting relatives. The role offers challenging but rewarding multidisciplinary work, highlighting nursing skills, humanity, and presence. The qualification requirement for the position is a professional degree in social and health care (practical nurse) or an equivalent previous qualification and registration with the National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health. Good Finnish language skills and a genuine interest and commitment to high-quality palliative care are required.
