Job Description

Welcome to our housing services team at Villa Breda's residential unit in Kauniainen. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic head of residential unit who is ready to lead and develop the housing services for our elderly clients. The position is temporary and offers an opportunity to influence and improve our clients' participation and quality of life through human-centered and coaching leadership. Your responsibilities as head of the residential unit are diverse and challenging. You will be responsible for the overall management, development, and quality assurance of the unit's operations. You will work closely with a team of approximately 40 staff members. Your colleague will be a service manager who supports you in leadership and acts as a direct supervisor for the staff. Villa Breda has 60 long-term, around-the-clock care places, and our clients communicate mainly in Finnish and Swedish. Your task is to ensure that our services are provided in accordance with legislation and regulatory requirements, while also developing our operations to realize the individual lives of our clients as well as possible. Our work environment is dynamic and collaborative, allowing you to develop yourself and significantly impact our clients' lives. The core of our operations at Villa Breda is the well-being of our clients. In the residential unit, you will primarily work on-site, enabling close interaction with clients and staff. Our recruitment process will proceed as follows: interviews will be held during weeks 34-35, and we hope you can start on August 31, 2026, or by agreement. Workplace name and address: Villa Breda, Palokunnankuja 2, 02700 Kauniainen Working hours: 38 hours 15 minutes/week The position is a fixed-term employment relationship from August 31, 2026 (or by agreement) until July 31, 2027. Qualifications: Suitable higher education degree and sufficient leadership skills The role requires vaccination protection according to the Infectious Diseases Act section 48 and tuberculosis screening according to section 55. Candidates selected for the position will be randomly asked to provide a substance abuse certificate in accordance with the West Uusimaa Well-being Services County's drug policy. From January 1, 2024, onwards, the selected candidate must present a criminal record extract in accordance with section 28 of Act 741/2023, concerning work with elderly persons. Additionally, good oral and written Finnish language skills are required, as well as the ability to interact with clients and their relatives in Swedish and good interaction skills. We value experience in social and/or healthcare management roles and the ability to lead and motivate staff to achieve operational goals within the budget. Further valued are experience in elderly and dementia care, familiarity with Rai and Lifecare systems, IT skills, management and leadership training, financial expertise, and skills in developing workplace well-being.
