Job Description
Helsingin kaupungin asunnot Oy is responsible for the property management, maintenance, and cleaning of Heka's sites by region. In the Southern area, we ensure high-quality and smooth living for 13,000 apartments. We are seeking a property maintenance worker for a permanent position. The duties of a property maintenance worker include general property upkeep, technical tasks, outdoor area maintenance, and minor repairs. Property maintenance workers are the largest and most visible employee group for Heka. The work is people-oriented, often involving visits to residents' homes, requiring tact and a sense of humor. Each maintenance worker is assigned a specific area, becoming familiar with the buildings and residents. Most tasks involve residential buildings, but depending on the area, work may also include a daycare, restaurant, or service house. The work is primarily independent, but colleagues can always be asked for help if needed. About one-third of the work involves yard work, allowing experience of seasonal changes, from snow shoveling to lawn mowing. In addition to traditional tools, digital devices and systems are used. Work methods and tools are evolving, and staff can pursue training while working. We at Heka value our skilled staff and encourage career advancement within the company. Requirements include suitable basic education, a B driver's license, and basic computer skills. Experience with property maintenance machinery and several years of relevant work experience are advantageous. With experience, participation in maintenance on-call duties is appreciated. We seek cooperative, customer-oriented individuals eager to develop their skills and possess good communication skills. We offer a versatile and challenging job with opportunities for professional development. Benefits include flexible working hours, a company bike, and various perks such as lunch, sports, culture, wellness, and commuting benefits. There is also an option for a company apartment. Salary and other employment terms are based on the General Collective Agreement for the private sector (YTES). The minimum starting salary for this position is €2,192.05/month. Experience pay is also provided for those with at least five years of relevant experience, calculated as 5% per 5 years and 10% per 10 years of experience. The position should be filled as soon as possible. For more information, contact juhana.fagerlund@hekaoy.fi or 09 57673301. The application deadline is August 28, 2026. Submit your application via the 'Apply for this position' link. Helsingin kaupungin asunnot Oy (Heka) is owned by the City of Helsinki. Heka is Finland's largest rental housing provider with approximately 55,000 subsidized apartments in Helsinki, housing about 15% of Helsinki residents. Nearly 700 professionals work at Heka, mainly in property maintenance and cleaning. Heka is a smoke-free workplace.
