Job Description

Monitoimitalo Riimin Daycare is looking for an early childhood education teacher to serve as the language and culture teacher at the daycare. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and developing pedagogical practices that enrich language and appreciate cultural diversity, in collaboration with teams. You will support children's language development and promote participation and equality in daily activities. We value pedagogical expertise, language-aware working approach, good interaction skills, and enthusiasm for developing our unit's activities. You will receive support from other early childhood education language teachers through joint meetings and development days. The employer provides various training opportunities, a work phone and iPad as work tools, and a weatherproof coat and footwear suitable for outdoor activities. We work in a multi-purpose building opening in summer 2024, which includes 8 early childhood education groups, a family and play club, a library, health clinic, parish, and youth services. We have dedicated dining and multi-purpose rooms, diverse equipment, and materials for high-quality work. A good knowledge of language-aware pedagogy and the ability to work flexibly between different groups are required. Applications will be reviewed and interviews conducted during the application period. Qualifications are based on the Finnish Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018) §§ 26 and 27. The qualification requirement for early childhood education teachers is at least a Bachelor's degree in Education, including professional studies in early childhood education, which can be specified further by government regulation, or supplemented with such studies. Applicants must submit a criminal record extract as specified in the Criminal Records Act § 6, subsection 2.
