Youth Worker - Humana - Helsinki, Finland

Are you interested in working in a youth home located in Helsinki city center with wonderful young people and professional colleagues? We are now looking for a youth worker for a permanent position at Nuorisokoti Satama! The work involves three shifts. You will do meaningful work with young people as part of a strong and supportive team. As a guide, you will act as a safe and consistent adult in daily life. You will meet young people genuinely, aim to understand the person behind the challenges, and build daily life where participation, respect, and being heard are central. You support young people in practicing basic and emotional skills, motivate them towards a crime-free life, and enable their active participation in daily decisions. The work emphasizes relationship-based mentoring, where you meet the young person individually and goal-oriented, build trust, and walk alongside them towards a safer and more balanced daily life. We work with a systemic approach, understanding the child's situation as part of their networks and relationships, and collaborate closely with families, schools, and other actors to ensure continuous and coherent support. We utilize trauma-informed and relationship-based methods, including DKT techniques, for which we train our staff. You will not work alone but will be supported by a skilled and committed team that shares responsibilities, knowledge, and successes, with open communication and supervision supporting well-being and professional growth.
