Mechanical Engineer - Talent ValtaGroup - Tampere, Finland

We are seeking a skilled and proactive mechanical engineer for our client in Tampere, who wants to combine practical manufacturing knowledge with modern design and calculation work. The role is well-suited for someone with experience in, for example, sheet metal welding and who has subsequently trained as an engineer or otherwise gained a strong understanding of plasma cutting, welded structures, and surface-treated steel parts. As a product development engineer, you will be responsible for diverse tasks including design, modeling, and calculations. Your work will include Excel-based calculations, such as designing pricing platforms and developing calculation tools; 3D modeling, creating models, and drawing manufacturing diagrams; producing manufacturing documentation and delivering it to production; developing quotation calculation formulas to support sales; designing efficiency calculators in accordance with upcoming EU directives. Your work supports both product development and sales, and you will have the opportunity to influence how product calculations, pricing, and design are automated and optimized. Requirements include a degree in engineering (Bachelor's or Master’s), experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D design software, strong 3D modeling skills, proficiency in Excel and interest in developing calculation tools, and the ability to work independently and solution-oriented. Additional valued qualities include flexibility: readiness to assist with production support tasks, especially if you have previous experience in plasma cutting, welded structures, or surface-treated steel parts.
