Temporary Police Detective Supervisor (40.17) - Kainuun poliisilaitos

The South-East Finland Police Department is hiring a temporary Police Detective Supervisor (40.17) for the period from August 1, 2026, to November 30, 2026. The temporary position is based on a substitute arrangement. The temporary Police Detective Supervisor position is located within the legal unit of the South-East Finland Police Department, whose main responsibilities include overseeing internal legal supervision, handling complaints and compensation matters, representing the police department in investigations and court proceedings, managing internal disciplinary procedures, and providing legal expertise for operational activities, management, and administrative issues. The position is not location-specific, and the place of duty will be determined according to the preferences of the selected candidate, either at the Kouvola main police station or at the police stations in Kotka or Lappeenranta. The Police Detective Supervisor role is an expert position, where the appointee will handle all types of matters related to the legal unit according to a separately agreed division of work. A particular responsibility of the Detective Supervisor is to monitor the use of covert intelligence and enforcement techniques. The position will be filled starting August 1, 2026, or by agreement.
