Job Description
The position involves teaching crafts (technical work methods) to grades 3-6 in our main school’s technical work classroom. The role may also include teaching textile work methods (by agreement). During the 2026-27 school year, the school will have grades 1-6 and a regional special class for students with learning difficulties at grade 6 level. The minimum teaching hours are 24 hours per week. Hansakallio School will have approximately 550 students in the 2026-27 school year. Start date: August 1, 2026. This workplace is accessible. Salary: According to OVTES, based on the pay scale https://www.kt.fi/sopimukset/ovtes/palkat-palkkiot Qualifications: Qualification as a craft teacher for basic education. Teacher qualifications are determined according to the decree on the qualifications of education personnel no 986/98. According to section 9 of the decree, a teacher providing basic education must have excellent oral and written skills in Finnish. For fixed-term positions, we also consider non-qualified applicants. The role requires teamwork skills and a flexible approach, the ability, skill, and experience to engage with all primary school age students, as well as insight and experience in craft as a shared subject. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract as specified in section 6.2 of the Criminal Records Act.
