We are seeking additional staff for our unit specializing in acute and monitoring work, consisting of motivated licensed practical nurses. Variability and responsibility in the work are motivating. A good work community supports and also brings joy and humor to the workday. The Acute Internal Medicine Unit is located in Tyks T-hospital. Our unit has sixteen acute internal medicine beds and six intensive care monitoring beds. Our patient records are extensive, and the average length of stay is about 3 days. Patients are admitted directly from the emergency department or transferred from other units. Many patients require demanding acute care and monitoring during the initial phase of treatment. We treat, among others, unclear infections and sepsis patients, acute heart and kidney patients, poisonings, and patients with electrolyte imbalances. Most of our patients have multiple illnesses. The qualification requirement for the position is a professional degree in social and health care (licensed practical nurse) or an earlier school-level qualification in the field. Additionally, we require readiness for three-shift work, motivation for professional development, good work skills, and a positive attitude. Good Finnish language skills, both spoken and written, are also required. Previous successful work in monitoring units or acute wards and proficiency in Swedish are considered an advantage.
