Job Description
We are now looking for a Laboratory Technician to join us in the multidisciplinary research unit of Biocenter Oulu. Our mission is to advance the quality of research and provide open-access research infrastructure services across eight technology platforms, including electron microscopy (EM). Biocenter Oulu offers an inspiring and international working environment where individuals can develop their skills, perform meaningful work, and grow professionally. The Laboratory Technician will join the Biocenter Oulu EM Core Facility and become part of a skilled and dedicated team providing sample preparation and imaging services to local users, as well as the national and international research communities. Main duties include: Preparation of biological specimens for imaging (including fixation, embedding, sectioning, and staining) Use of necessary laboratory methods (including preparation of buffers and staining solutions) Additional tasks may be assigned based on the needs of the Core Facility and the skills and interests of the selected candidate.
