Embedded Machine Control Software Engineer - Unikie Oy - Remote - Global

We are looking for an Embedded Machine Control Software Engineer to join Unikie in a long-term customer project in the Kuopio region. In this role, you will develop and maintain software used in heavy-duty machines and machine automation systems. Your work will include machine control features, CAN-based communication, and software integration with sensors, actuators, motors, and hydraulic systems. You will work close to real machines and physical systems, together with other software and engineering specialists. Skills required include C/C++, embedded software, CAN bus, real-time systems, and robotics. The role is based in Kuopio. Qualifications include experience developing control software for machines, vehicles, robotics, or industrial equipment, embedded or real-time systems, CAN bus or similar communication technologies, and programming in C, C++, Rust, or PLC. Fluent Finnish and English skills are required. Nice to have: experience with mobile machinery, heavy equipment, automotive embedded systems, industrial automation, Codesys, IEC 61131-3, embedded Linux, testing, automation tooling, CI/CD, and simulation tools like Matlab/Simulink.
