Manufacturing Estimator - Raute Oyj - Remote - Global

Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Manufacturing Estimator (Production Expert) is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for manufacturing projects ranging from $10,000 to multimillion dollar projects. This role works together with engineering, production, sales, and operations to evaluate engineering design costs, project requirements, develop pricing strategies, and support business development efforts. The Estimator also serves as a key point of contact for subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Responsibilities include preparing detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, and subcontracting, interpreting engineering drawings, developing manufacturing cost models, collaborating with teams to validate estimates, assessing feasibility, supporting risk analysis, liaising with vendors, developing bids, utilizing ERP/CRM systems, contributing to pricing strategies, providing technical solutions, supporting quotation departments, and performing other duties. Requirements include a diploma or degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related disciplines, 3–5 years estimating experience in metal machining and fabrication, hands-on shop experience, familiarity with ERP systems (especially Microsoft D365), proficiency in Microsoft Office, strong blueprint reading skills, familiarity with North American standards, experience developing DXFs, and professional designations (EIT, P.Eng., PMP).
