The duties of the parish manager include preparing and handling the practical tasks of worship services, church ceremonies, and other parish events. The tasks also involve maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of indoor and outdoor areas of the properties, as well as cleaning and catering for various events. It is considered an advantage if the applicant is willing to learn other tasks within the parish. The work is primarily based at Kuhmo Church and the Kuhmo Parish Center. Additional tasks are located at Ikola Vicarage, Lentiira Church, and the chapel of blessing. Applicants are expected to have a suitable vocational qualification (e.g., sexton professional qualification) or equivalent skills acquired through work experience. The sexton qualification can also be completed alongside work through apprenticeship training after accepting the position. The selected person must be a confirmed member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland. Since the tasks require moving between different properties, a driving license (B) and access to a personal car are essential. Fulfilling the role of parish manager requires flexibility, adaptability, and initiative. The parish manager works closely with parish members and staff, especially with the other parish manager. The work involves interacting with and serving people in very different situations. We are looking for a person with strengths in independent work, good communication skills, teamwork, and a proactive approach. The immediate supervisor is the financial manager. The employment is permanent and begins on October 1, 2026, or as agreed. The working hours are standard 38.25 hours per week in three-week cycles, including evening and weekend work. Remote work is not possible. A six-month probation period applies, and before starting, the selected candidate must provide an acceptable medical certificate of health. The salary is based on KirVESTES demand group 402 (basic salary a4234,28/month). Additional experience-based allowances and performance bonuses may be paid based on service time (3, 5, 10, and 15 years).
