Chief Physician, Psychiatry - HUS diagnostiikkakeskus - Porvoo, Finland

Become a chief physician at the Psychiatry Department in Porvoo! We are seeking a permanent chief physician for the Psychiatry Department at HUS Psychiatry, serving the Eastern and Central Uusimaa regions. The position begins on July 1, 2026, or as agreed. The Eastern and Central Uusimaa psychiatry line is responsible for specialized psychiatric care for the populations of the regions of Eastern Uusimaa and Keusote. As a chief physician, you will lead the department's care processes and develop the department's operations together with other managers. Your duties include clinical patient work, supervising residents and medical students, and leading a multidisciplinary team. You will collaborate with Porvoo Psychiatry's intensive outpatient services and other outpatient clinics, as well as with other departments located in Hyvinkää. You will participate in cooperation and development of psychiatric services with the emergency department at Porvoo Hospital. The position includes the possibility to participate in psychiatric on-call duties at Hyvinkää Hospital. Qualifications: We value a flexible approach, good collaboration skills, and familiarity with psychiatric inpatient care. We require sufficient experience in independent work in psychiatry, the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team, and proficiency in one of the national languages. The position offers opportunities for leadership development. The candidate must have specialist qualification in psychiatry, be a licensed physician, and have the right to practice medicine. Physicians nearing the completion of their psychiatry specialization may also be considered for temporary positions. Language requirements include good oral and written skills in Finnish, and satisfactory skills in Swedish, or good skills in Swedish and satisfactory skills in Finnish. We require vaccination against infectious diseases according to the Communicable Diseases Act for those working in patient and customer areas, and health status verification for tuberculosis for healthcare workers.
