We are currently seeking a full-time substitute teacher for Ilola School to teach Finnish as a Second Language and classroom instruction. Workplace description: Ilola School is a diverse school for grades 1-5 with approximately 540 students. We have 37 teachers and 17 teaching assistants and student welfare staff. In addition to basic education classes, Ilola School has special classes for local students and regional support groups for special needs education. Job description: The full-time substitute teacher role includes 15 hours of Finnish as a Second Language (FSL) instruction and 7 hours of other teaching. As an FSL teacher, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing Finnish language instruction for students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Tasks include assessing students’ language skills, differentiation, small group and individual teaching, and planning learning support. The teacher collaborates closely with classroom teachers and participates in developing language-aware teaching practices.
