We are seeking a language teacher for a permanent position starting from August 1, 2026. The position is located at Lestijärvi Comprehensive School, which operates in a new and cozy log school building in a natural environment by the shores of Lestijärvi. Lestijärvi Comprehensive School has approximately 60 students in grades 0-9. The same building houses early childhood education facilities, and there is also a cozy library in the shared yard. Small class sizes, a community-oriented culture, and close collaboration among staff create good conditions for high-quality teaching and individual student interactions. The subjects taught are English and Swedish. Applicants are expected to have good cooperation and interaction skills, digital competence, an enthusiastic and developmental approach to work, readiness for partial combined-class teaching, and versatile skills for working with different learners. Qualifications are determined according to the decree on the qualifications of education personnel 986/1998. If there are no qualified applicants, the position will be filled temporarily from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027. Salary is based on OVTES. The appointment is conditional until the selected candidate has, within 30 days of notification of selection, presented a criminal record extract (Act on the Background Checks of Persons Working with Children 504/2002) and an acceptable medical certificate of health. Lestijärvi municipality will conduct a pre-employment health check for all new employees whose employment or service relationship lasts over six (6) months. The check includes testing for drug and, if necessary, alcohol use. A six (6) month probation period applies to the position. Lestijärvi is a small and community-oriented municipality in Central Ostrobothnia, where everyday life is smooth and nature is close.
