Job Description

We are seeking an early childhood education social worker for Nummenpuistokatu Daycare Center starting from August 3, 2026, in a group for children under 3 years old. In addition to you, the group includes an early childhood education teacher and a child caregiver. As an early childhood education social worker, you will participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating your child's group activities together with your team, as well as supporting children's individual learning in collaboration with the special education teacher. The role emphasizes cooperation with children's guardians and supporting families in their educational tasks. The group has a clear daily structure, small group activities, and uses pictures and sign language as needed. We value genuine and respectful interactions with both children and guardians. Your working hours are generally between 6:45 AM and 5:00 PM, with weekly time allocated for planning, evaluation, and development of activities. You will have regular training during working hours, and the work community meets to develop our daycare's operational culture and pedagogy together. Qualifications are determined according to the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018) section 27; The qualification requirement for early childhood education social worker positions is at least a degree from a university of applied sciences in social and health care, including at least 60 ECTS credits in early childhood education and social pedagogy, or a social worker degree supplemented with these studies. Applicants must submit a criminal record extract as specified in section 6, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Records Act (504/2002).
