Job Description
Hämeenlinna Prison is hiring three permanent correctional supervisor positions starting from September 1, 2026. The Hämeenlinna Prison of the Finnish Prison Service is expanding its operations in autumn 2026 with the opening of 32 new inmate places. As part of this expansion, we are strengthening our management team and are now recruiting three correctional supervisors for unit supervisor roles. Hämeenlinna Prison is a 120-bed women’s prison under the HämePirkanmaa Correctional Centre, employing approximately 95 professionals. The prison handles fines, imprisonment, and pre-trial detention. It also includes: - a 2-bed family unit for pre-trial detainees in cooperation with child protection services - a 2-bed youth unit for juvenile inmates - a 38-bed prison hospital located on the campus, treating both female and male inmates Our operations and development work pay special attention to the unique issues related to correctional work with women. We are seeking a correctional supervisor to perform diverse and impactful leadership tasks as part of a professional team. The role includes responsibilities related to safety and inmate activities. As a correctional supervisor, you will serve as a unit supervisor and lead staff working directly with inmates. You will also be responsible for your part in the official duties and their development, as well as guiding and supporting staff. The role emphasizes: - safe, goal-oriented, and interactive leadership - supporting inmate rehabilitation and functional capacity - multidisciplinary collaboration - developing operations in a changing environment We offer the opportunity to participate in building and developing new operations as part of a growing women’s prison.
