Job Description
We are seeking a class teacher for Solbrinkens School for the period 10.8.2026 - 5.6.2027. Solbrinkens School (grades 1-6) is a pleasant, energetic, and smaller unit where daily operations run smoothly. The school has combined classes with a focus on students' well-being. The staff includes special education teachers, special class teachers, and school guidance counselors. Staff support each other to strengthen community, and there is a culture of working together. In addition to strong collegial support, you will have an assigned mentor. Solbrinkens School is located in Laurentius House in the center of Lojo, with good opportunities to explore the surrounding area. As a class teacher, the role requires: - Good skills in engaging with all students and collaboration with various stakeholders. - Strong knowledge of teaching mixed classes and a positive attitude towards teamwork. - Ability to differentiate instruction. - Experience in teaching subjects for grades 1-6 and skills in using digital tools in daily work. We also value good knowledge of both native languages and familiarity with teaching arrangements that support learning and group-specific support measures. Qualifications are in accordance with the decree on qualification requirements for personnel in education (986/98) (http://finlex.fi/sv/laki/ajantasa/1998/19980986). The submitted certificates should show: degree obtained and studies demonstrating qualification (e.g., pedagogical studies 60 ECTS, subject didactic studies 60 ECTS, qualification for subject teaching 60/120 ECTS). For those meeting the qualification requirements, the salary is 2,926.71-3,220.91 euros/month, plus any annual bonuses according to UKTA. Teachers in basic education in Lojo are paid 146.55 euros/month in Lojo-specific allowance after assessment of work difficulty. Additionally, class teachers receive 99.70 or 55.38 euros/month in the aforementioned allowance depending on the grade they teach. You may also receive other allowances when working for the City of Lojo. The position includes a probation period of half the employment duration. The appointee must submit a health certificate from Keski-Uudenmaan Työterveys Oy in Lojo within one month of starting employment. A criminal record extract according to law (504/2002) must also be presented. Interviews will be held immediately after the application deadline.
