Job Description
We have a trained, capable, and enthusiastic staff. Training and work supervision opportunities are good. The geropsychiatry unit operates a 16-bed ward and a geropsychiatry outpatient clinic. You will be responsible for the medical activities of the units as the chief physician, with a clinical focus on ward work in geropsychiatry. Our unit is located on the hospital campus, in Y-building, adjacent to somatic hospital care, and other psychiatric services are in the neighboring M-building. We use Lifecare as our medical record system. Seinäjoki is the regional center of South Ostrobothnia. The capital of space, with room for all good things. Seinäjoki hosts a university center formed by several universities and a university of applied sciences. The city combines the benefits of a large city with the community and comfort of a small town. There are diverse recreational opportunities in sports and culture, and nature is nearby. Seinäjoki has good transportation connections. Travel to Tampere takes just over an hour by train, and to Oulu and Helsinki in less than three hours. We expect initiative, knowledge, and a development-oriented attitude from you. Good cooperation skills and previous experience in managing a psychiatric unit are required. Qualifications include licensure and permission to practice as a medical doctor under the Health Care Professionals Act 559/1994, and rights as a specialist in psychiatry. Additional training in geriatric psychiatry and previous experience in geriatric psychiatry are considered an advantage. Employment conditions and salary are based on the applicable collective agreement, with a starting salary of 7990€/month, plus a mental health allowance of 722.47€/month. A trial period may be applied at the start of employment. HYVAEP is a smoke-free workplace. The position requires vaccination protection according to section 48 of the Infectious Diseases Act and a certificate of no active tuberculosis according to section 55.
