Data Engineer - AI Focus - Solita Oy - Helsinki, Finland

We are looking for a data engineer with focus on AI to join our team. In Solita's AI, Analytics & Agents community, we support our customers throughout their data and AI journey, from building robust data foundations to enabling AI adoption across the organization. Your role in a nutshell As a Data Engineer with an AI/ML focus, you will design and build scalable data platforms and pipelines that power both analytics and AI solutions. Your work will include developing robust data architectures, implementing data pipelines, and creating the infrastructure needed for machine learning and AI applications to run in production. You will be involved in all phases of projects: from understanding data requirements and architecture design to production deployment and continuous improvement. In practice, your work will include: Designing and implementing scalable, production-grade data pipelines (batch and streaming) on cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) Building and maintaining modern cloud data platforms using technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Synapse, or AWS data services Developing data infrastructure that supports both analytics and AI/ML workloads, including feature stores and ML data pipelines Implementing data modeling approaches (e.g., Data Vault 2.0, dimensional modeling, or schema-on-read patterns) Designing and implementing MLOps and CI/CD pipelines for data and ML workflows Ensuring data quality, governance, security, and performance optimization across the data platform Consulting and providing technical guidance to customers on data architecture and platform strategy Working as part of a team of experienced data engineers, AI/ML specialists, architects, and data scientists Solutions are built collaboratively, but in this role you will have the opportunity to take ownership and influence data architecture and solution design from the very beginning. What helps you succeed in this role Core data engineering experience: Several years of hands-on experience designing and building production-grade data pipelines and cloud data platforms Cloud expertise: Strong experience with cloud services (Azure / AWS / GCP) and building data infrastructure using IaC tools (Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation) Data technologies: Hands-on experience with modern data platforms and tools such as Databricks, Snowflake, Spark, Delta Lake, or cloud-native data services Programming skills: Proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with Scala, Java, or C# is beneficial ML/AI infrastructure: Experience building data infrastructure for AI/ML workloads, including ML pipelines, feature engineering, and model deployment infrastructure MLOps & DevOps: Familiarity with MLOps practices, CI/CD processes, and DevOps ways of working (Docker, Kubernetes, Git, etc.) AI/ML awareness: Understanding of how GenAI, LLM technologies, and ML models consume and interact with data (experience with Azure OpenAI, Databricks AI, LangChain, or similar is a plus) Data modeling & architecture: Experience with data modeling techniques and understanding of data architecture principles Consultative approach: Ability to listen, discuss, and translate business requirements into robust data solutions Languages: Fluent in French or Dutch, and English What we offer Challenging, meaningful and impactful projects with a wide variety of clients A diverse community of 400+ data and integration professionals who love to learn, challenge and support each other.
