Aberia Disability Services is building homes where each person is treated as an individual – as the main character of their own life. Our work is based on respect, presence, and client-centered daily routines. Koivukallio is Aberia's first residential unit for people with intellectual disabilities in Finland. It will open in September 2026 in Siekkilä, Mikkeli. Koivukallio is specifically designed for clients on the autism spectrum and those requiring intensive support. The unit offers 24-hour supported living in small groups, with daily routines tailored to each client's needs. The home consists of three group homes with a total of 22 places. The environment is designed to support clarity, calmness, and predictability – key elements for a good daily life with clients on the autism spectrum. Work at Koivukallio emphasizes strong interaction and communication skills, respect for clients' autonomy, and a rehabilitative approach. WHAT DOES THE WORK INVOLVE? As a night director, you will work with individuals on the autism spectrum in a 24-hour supported living unit. The work involves supporting daily routines, guiding activities based on client goals and needs, and creating a safe environment. Your tasks include: - Building clear and predictable routines with clients - Guiding daily activities according to client goals and needs - Utilizing structured work methods (e.g., daily rhythms, visual supports) - Using augmentative and alternative communication methods (AAC) - Supporting clients' autonomy and participation - Ensuring that daily life is safe, calm, and suitable for the client - Working closely with the team and various networks - Calming residents during the night for sleep - Performing small household chores such as laundry, preparing breakfast porridge, or baking if desired. The role requires the ability to meet clients individually and act calmly in challenging situations. WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM YOU? - Practical nurse qualification (or other relevant social and health care education) - Hygiene passport and certification card - Medication administration skills - Vaccination against infectious diseases and tuberculosis screening - Good spoken and written Finnish language skills - The selected candidate will be asked to present a valid criminal record extract before starting employment, as required by the Act on the Protection of Privacy in Working with Vulnerable Adults. - Experience or strong interest in working with clients on the autism spectrum - Skills or willingness to learn structured daily guidance and AAC methods - Ability to work systematically and consistently - Good interaction and teamwork skills, and the ability to work independently We especially value genuine interest in building a good life for clients from their own starting points.
