Job Description
A new library building will be completed in Teuva municipality during autumn 2026. The new building will provide better facilities for various library activities and opportunities for new types of activities. The aim is to utilize the interest in the new library building as broadly as possible. The project seeks to find additional ways to implement adult book recommendations and to enhance existing methods. For example, book recommendation sessions, recommendation tables, and "if you liked this, you might also like" lists will be tested. During the project, a cooperation agreement will be drafted with Teuva High School and the existing cooperation agreement with basic education will be supplemented for the middle school. Training on information retrieval and library use will also be offered to teachers. A functional model for this purpose will be developed for regular use. Additionally, a material package for teaching information retrieval will be compiled for different groups, and book recommendation packages, e.g., genre recommendations for 8th graders, will be prepared. The project's goal is also to plan and prepare new forms of cooperation in the new library with other municipal actors, community organizations, and associations, so that as many residents as possible can experience the new library facilities and services. Contacts will be established and planning initiated for the use of library spaces and cooperation in various forms. Plans will also be implemented practically. The project worker's task is to plan and organize the project's activities, communicate about the project internally and externally, organize events, prepare a teaching material package for information retrieval, and produce a final report. The project worker will work closely with the library staff and especially with the librarian responsible for events. A suitable degree in library science is required. Successful performance of the job requires a developmental approach, good interaction skills, the ability to work independently, and self-management. Experience in project work, working with information retrieval education, and collaboration with third sector actors is considered an advantage. A workspace, phone, and computer will be provided at Teuva Library. The work can also be partly done remotely if agreed.
