Job Description
We are seeking a full-time teacher (home economics and crafts) for Imatra City for a fixed-term position from August 11, 2026, to July 31, 2027. Home economics instruction will mainly take place at Mansikkala School Center at the beginning of the employment period, and soft materials crafts classes at Vuoksenniskan School Center. Mansikkala School Center is located in Finland's largest wooden school building near Vuoksi River. The school center, completed in 2020, houses a daycare, preschool, grades 1-9, and Imatra High School. For basic education students, there is music-oriented instruction (grades 3-9) and sports-oriented instruction (grades 7-9). The high school offers dual diplomas with vocational studies, an international IB program, and a sports academy. Vuoksenniskan School Center has approximately 560 students and nearly 100 professionals. It is situated on Salpausselkä ridge, between Lake Saimaan and Immolanjärvi. The surrounding environment offers diverse sports and outdoor activities, with a focus on nature and environmental connection in teaching. The school provides basic education for grades 1-9, as well as support for learning and behavior in flexible small groups, support classes, and extended compulsory education classes.
