Social Worker, Adult Disability Services, Pietarsaari - Pohjanmaan hyvinvointialue - Jakobstad, Finland

We are hiring a social worker for the Pohjanmaa Wellbeing Services Region, initial placement in disability services, Pietarsaari. The role involves working with adults with disabilities in the northern part of the wellbeing services region. The work begins on August 3, 2026, and ends on June 3, 2027. Adult disability services are specialized services aimed at supporting the equality, participation, and independent living of people with disabilities. The services are based on individual needs assessments according to the Disability Services Act. The services include, for example, mobility support (transport services), support for accessible housing, and other disability-related services that the individual may need. The work is carried out in collaboration with social workers in disability services and many other actors. The disability services team will support you in your work. The work involves home visits, interactions within the client's various networks, official contacts, and network meetings. We value previous experience in disability services or other social work, good communication and teamwork skills, and substantive knowledge of disability services related to social welfare. Qualifications: Appropriate higher education degree according to the Act on Social Welfare Professionals (817/2015, § 8). Good oral and satisfactory written skills in both national languages of our country. The selected candidate must, before starting the position, provide a required medical certificate of health and a criminal record extract as per section 6, subsection 2 of the Criminal Records Act. Additionally, the candidate must have valid vaccination protection according to section 48 of the Infectious Diseases Act (1227/2016). A trial period applies.
